Detective Oscar Garcia is a perceptive, gifted hypochondriac. If a case comes up that is out of the ordinary, it's likely that Inspector Gomez will assign it to him. Gomez doesn't think much of Oscar's lumbering partner Jose, but at least he should keep Oscar out of trouble. 

The short stories in this collection describe Oscar's attempts to resolve the problems of ghosts, parallel universes and the existential conundrums of magical reality as well as straightforward villainy.
