Steve explained he had just retired and they were spending 3 months in SE Asia. They had been to Chiang Mai and Bangkok and after a couple of days in Pattaya, they were going to Singapore with them. They would return through Malaysia, and be back in two weeks for a few days. Then they wanted to tour Thailand, and go to Laos.
Rot was full of questions and chatted with Judy whilst Steve and Mike caught up.
At midnight, Mike ordered a bottle of champagne and Judy announced that it seemed like Rot and him were in the study when they came back as Rot had invited them to use their room, and after Central, Rot was taking them to a market to buy some cheap clothes for their travels.
Rot turned to Mike and didn’t say a word, but Mike knew the look on his face. “Ok, whatever you want.” Rot made a call and then went to the room and brought the DVD and gave it to Judy.
Thirty minutes later, most of the crew walked in and Rot introduced them, and then asked them where Rit and Oot were.
Run said they’ll be here in a minute with your first birthday surprise.
Mike corrected him and said second.
Judy suggested that maybe she should dump Steve and take a young Thai Guy if they were all like this.
Nut said we’re all taken and gay, except Rot who’s 50:50.
“No, I’m 100% gay now.”
Cap, Hum and Ton walked in and said “Happy Birthday. You didn’t think we’d miss it did you. Rot close your eyes, as there is another surprise.”
Rit and Oot entered with Rot’s father. Rot jumped up and hugged him when he spoke.
Mike decided to let them chat. He confirmed with Rit that there were no more surprises that night. He went over to Hum. “Who’s looking after the resort?”
“Daeng, Geoff and Rob.”
Rit sat and updated Mike on their father. The other guys sat and chatted with Steve and Judy.
Eventually Rot turned to Mike and told him that Pa wanted them to go to his village and do a ceremony same like marry, the four of them. Did Mike want? He nodded and asked when.
Rot said when Steve and Judy go to Udon, and then they can come.
At that point, Nick and Boy walked in, along with Brian and Mot. Rot rushed and told them and they offered to look after the bar for a couple of nights if the others wanted to go. The Farangs formed one table and the Thais another.
Mike asked if Steve and Judy were fine, if they wanted to sleep they could, but they said they were still on UK time, and were fine.
Steve asked what everyone did; he knew who was whose boyfriend, but not their jobs. Mike explained who did what and about the Udon part of the ‘family’.
Eventually Rit came over and said they were off to the bar to sleep as they had a busy day and reminded Mot and Boy to be there by twelve.
We are joining you, and so are some others. Let’s make it a new tradition, night before a party we all sleep at the bar.”
Neung said he had better make an announcement as it seemed to be a party and called Song over. “We are now officially boyfriends.”
Rot said that they had guessed. “And I thought Mike and I were slow getting together. You’ve known each other how long!”
The guys left for the bar.
Rot came and sat between Steve and Judy. Mike asked Brian and Nick if they knew what else was planned.
Brian said they didn’t know as Boy and Mot wouldn’t tell them much.
Eventually they decided to call it a night. Rot and Judy agreed to breakfast at 9.30 in Rot’s suite.
Mike gave him a playful cuff, “Our suite.”
